Library – A.R.E. Virginia Beach Headquarters
Edgar Cayce’s Famous Couch is on display in the A.R.E. Library at our Headquarters in Virginia Beach, VA
The Edgar Cayce A.R.E. Library stands as a living memorial to the life and work of Edgar Cayce, whose more than 14,000 psychic readings form the core of the collection. In addition to the Cayce readings, the Library houses one of the largest collections in the world specializing in the fields of metaphysics, parapsychology, comparative religious studies, holistic health, ancient civilizations, and foreign language editions of Edgar Cayce books.
Books may be checked-out on site if you are a Member of Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E., a student of Atlantic University or Cayce/Reilly® School of Massage Therapy. We also offer free internet access from our Wi-Fi lounge using one of our computers or your own.
The purpose of the A.R.E. Library is completely intertwined with that of the Cayce organizations:
“The purpose, then, of the Association: The institution [is to be] builded around that of a place where the records of that accomplished through these sources are kept, and others of similar nature, or of the various philosophies that may be found that will coordinate-and combined in that oneness of purpose to bring the better understanding of the purpose in life, and thus enable man to realize the closer association with the divine. In the lecture room and the library-members, then, having access to such, gain better in the understanding of such, and the library may be made circulating, or a repository-as it will become-to all those who seek to see their theory disseminated. Hence this would become as the clearing house of such.”
(Edgar Cayce reading #254-37)
To provide library service, enhance spiritual community, strengthen connectedness within the Association, foster personal growth, encourage “the love of God and man,” and promote the oneness of all life in the experience of those who seek greater consciousness.
“All knowledge is to be used in the manner that will give help and assistance to others, and the desire is that the laws of the Creator be manifested in the physical world.”
– Edgar Cayce
