Mary Elizabeth Lynch, M.A., J.D., is a co-founder and the president of the Personal Transformation and Courage Institute, where she serves, along with her husband, Mark Thurston, as one of its principal course leaders. Founded in 2000, it provides in-depth learning experiences about how to deeply connect with one’s values and Ideals as the foundation to transform blocks to one’s personal well-being and professional success. Mary Elizabeth worked for 14 years as a practicing civil rights attorney and mediator. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University, where she developed and teaches a course about the science of well-being and self-care. As a life member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, she has studied and applied the principles in the Cayce readings for 45 years. She has been a speaker and workshop leader at many A.R.E. conferences across the nation over the last 40 years, and she is a former member of the faculty at Atlantic University. Mary Elizabeth’s spiritual journey includes the studies and practices of a variety of spiritual traditions, bringing perspective and depth to her understanding and application of spirituality in her personal and professional life. Mary Elizabeth brings her unique set of skills and professional experiences to her workshop trainings and currently to ARE’s Tarsia Center for Inner Transformation and Healing. The foundation of her work with each person is the clarification and application of values and strengths.
