Depart to Greece from the Dulles airport (flights TBD)

Wednesday, March 19 | Thessaloniki

Arrive in Thessaloniki, the second largest city of Greece founded by Cassander, ascendant of Alexander the Great. Upon arrival, you will be transported to your hotel and will have free time in the city center.

Thursday, March 20 | Philippi, Kavala, Thessaloniki   

  • Visit the Ancient Colony of Philippi built in 356 B.C. by Alexander’s father, Philip II. Visit includes:
  • The Ancient Theatre
  • Church of Philippi founded by Apostle Paul in 49 A.D. (the first church in European territory)
  • Baptistery of St. Lydia of Filippisias
  • Kavala for a panoramic view of Port of Neapolis, the first place where Paul put his feet in Europe (Acts 16 7-11).
  • Visit Egnatia where Paul walked on his way to Thessaloniki.

Friday, March 21 | Veria, Vergina, Thessaloniki   

Visit the Veria, the capital of Imathia at the foot of Mount Vermio. Enjoy with free time to tour the Step of Apostle Paul and the Synagogue next to the Barbouta area (known as the Jewish District). The stone-built Synagogue is the most ancient synagogue in the northern Greece. Visit Vergina and the museum with the four tombs and the Heroes Garden. Two of the tombs are the most significant–one of Philip II and the other of Alexander the fourth.

Saturday, March 22 | Thessoloniki, Kalambaka   

Panoramic City Tour:

  • Saint Dimitrius: we will pilgrimage the relics of the Saint, admire the mosaics of the Church and also see the spot where the Saint martyred.
  • White Tower and the Upper Town: enjoy a panoramic view of Thessaloniki.
  • Kalambaka: visit the prefecture built in a rare geological phenomenon of Meteora (a cluster of huge dark colored stones made of sandstone). The name Meteora is attributed to the monk of the monastery, Agios Athanasius the Meteorite.
  • Enjoy the panoramic ride and visit two of the six visited monasteries.

Sunday, March 23 | Delphi, Olympia

Visit Delphi, an Ancient Greek city in which the most important Oracle of the Ancient Greek world operated. Earlier myths include traditions that Pythia, the Delphic oracle, was the site of an important oracle in the pre-classical Greek world (as early as 1400 BC), and rededicated to serve as the major site during classical times for the worship of the god Apollo after he slew Python, “a dragon” who protected the navel of the Earth. You will be guided around the archaeological site and the museum.  Depart Delphi and arrive in Olympia at the hotel.

Monday, March 24 | Olympia, Nafplion

Visit Ancient Olympia, an Ancient Greek City known as the venue of the Olympic Games. In Olympia stood the chryselephantine statue of Zeus, which was one of the ancient seven wonders of the world. A guided tour will follow in the archaeological museum and the stadium. The capacity of the stadium is about 45,000 spectators. Visit the capital of the prefecture Argolis in Nafplion. It is one of the most scenic cities in the country and it was the first capital of the Greek state during the period 1828 – 1833. Enjoy free time to explore the picturesque streets of the city.

Wednesday, March 26 | Ancient Corinth,   Acrocorinth, Athens

Visit Ancient Corinth, which was an important city in Ancient Greece and dates back to the Neolithic Period (5.000-3.000). Visit one of the largest museums in Greece, in terms of the wealth and quality of the findings (Acts 18:1-18, 19:22). See the bema of Gallio and the Erastus inscription. Visit AcroCorinth and Cenchreae (Acts 18:18) and stop at the Isthmus of Corinth. It is a narrow strip of land 6 kilometers in length joining Central Greece with Peloponnese. Enjoy free time to take photos. Depart and arrive in Athens for the evening.

Thursday, March 27 | Athens city tour

  • Panathenaic Stadium known as Kallimarmaro, which was used for the celebration of Panathenea in honor of Goddess Athena during ancient times. Enjoy free time to take photos.
  • Take a coach to the Zappeion Hall, the Greek Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers, the symbolic monument in the memory of the Soldiers who died for their country.
  • Take a drive along Panepistimiou Street, one of the most central streets of Athens, we will see the triad of neoclassical buildings: the Library, the Academy, and the University.
  • Visit Mars Hill and the Acropolis with magnificent monuments such as the Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, Propylaea, Ancient Agora, theatre of Dionysus, and Odeon of Herodes Atticus (Acts 17:16-34).
  • Walk around the Parthenon Monument, built during the 5th century BC by the architects Ictinus and Kallikrates.
  • Enjoy free time in the traditional area of Plaka, a district in the center of Athens just beneath the Acropolis..

Friday, March 28 | cruise to Mykonos

  • Enjoy morning free time.

  • Cruise ship arrives in Mykonos at 4 p.m. Enjoy free time on this beautiful iconic Cycladic Island.
  • Depart Mykonos by 11 p.m.

Saturday, March 29 | Kusadasi, Patmos

  • 7:00 a.m–Ship arrives at the Port of Kusadasi.
  • Ancient Ephesus bus tour­—a journey through the golden ages which shaped a pivotal center of commerce, spirituality and Greek history. Turkish and Christian civilizations from its privileged location, chosen (according to legend) by the oracle of Delphi. A site of pilgrimage, due to its proximity to the Temple of Artemis (one of the seven wonders of the world) and the presence of major Christian figures (the apostles Paul and John and the Virgin Mary), Ephesus is currently one of the largest Roman archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. The splendor of its golden age is visible throughout its streets and exceptionally well-preserved ruins.
  • Explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and breathe in the centuries of cultural effervescence, visible in Ephesus Agora, Odeon, Houses of the Patricians, Temple of Hadrian and the astonishing Library of Celsus.
  • Bargain and shop local merchandise such as carpets, leather goods, souvenirs etc.
  • Noon–Return to the ship.
  • 12:30 p.m.–Set sail for Patmos.
  • 4:00 p.m.–Arrive in Patmos and explore the Monastery of St. John and the Grotto of Revelation.
  • 9:00 p.m.–Set sail for Santorini.
