Dr. McCracken is a Board-Certified Family Physician and Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner. With nearly 30 years experience practicing medicine, she has enjoyed implementing innovative and distinct approaches to patient care while maintaining Best Practices and a Scientific, Evidence-Based approach. Her Functional Medicine and Bioenergetic Wellness Practice incorporates all aspects of wellness and brings balance and wholeness to the sacred journey of life. Her undergraduate studies were in Biology-Chemistry at the University of Lynchburg where she played basketball, softball and volleyball and had concentrations in French and Art/Art History. She served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Ecuador as a Fish Farmer and Youth Coordinator. She graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA where she served as Chief Resident. She has been selected by her peers as “Top Doc” by Hampton Roads Magazine for Family Medicine as well as receiving “Patient Choice Awards.” In 2022 she received the T. Gibson Hobbs, University of Lynchburg Most Distinguished Alumni Award. She has enjoyed serving on various medical mission trips to Panama, Ecuador and Honduras as well as local medical missions and clinics.She has served as Community Faculty for Eastern Virginia Medical School and James Madison University. She has served on the Board for The Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center, The Poquoson Education Foundation as well as The Parents Council and President’s Council at The University of Lynchburg. She has training in Accunect Energy Medicine, Autonomic Response Testing, EFT/Tapping, Bioresonance and other healing modalities.
