Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment
Announces the Appointment of
Christopher Naughton as Chief Executive Officer
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA., March 1, 2025 – The Board of Trustees of Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.), the Edgar Cayce Foundation (E.C.F.), and Atlantic University (A.U.) proudly announce the appointment of Christopher W. Naughton, Esq. as Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1, 2025. Naughton brings a wealth of leadership experience across business, law, broadcasting, and nonprofit organizations.
“Throughout the years, the Edgar Cayce readings and the A.R.E. have had a profound impact on me personally and professionally,” says Christopher. “Cayce’s work embodies the mystical core of the American soul. Globally, these times pose a historically rare opportunity for expanding consciousness and spiritual awakening.”
A former New Jersey prosecutor, Naughton is a six-time Emmy® Award-winning host and executive producer of The American Law Journal, which aired on the Philadelphia CNN affiliate for more than two decades. He also created and hosted the NPR-affiliate program New World Radio on comparative spirituality and has been an invited speaker and panel moderator at A.R.E. conferences. Naughton is the author of the recently published book America’s Next Great Awakening, which examines the convergence of mysticism, atheism, religion, and science.
Marianne Splenda, Chair of the A.R.E. Board of Trustees, states:
“Christopher is an exceptional leader who is aligned with the A.R.E.’s mission-driven culture, making him the ideal candidate. The A.R.E. has an important future, and we believe he is the best person for our programming, outreach, and securing the next iteration of the Edgar Cayce work.”
“Although for different reasons,” says Christopher, “Cayce’s name should someday be as recognizable as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Mary Baker Eddy, Billy Graham, and Carl Jung. I look forward to introducing or reintroducing the world to the magic and wisdom found in Cayce’s body of work.”
