Melissa Lopez

Melissa creates safe, inclusive spaces where students from all walks of life can journey inward toward deeper knowledge, (self) awareness, and (self) love. Her teaching is rooted in a heart-centered, mindfulness-based approach that weaves together breathwork, intuitive movement, yogic philosophy, and creative embodiment. Guided by love, her classes are intentionally crafted to support heart healing, spark personal empowerment, and nourish the soul—always with the hope that what students experience on the mat enriches their lives beyond it. Yoga first found Melissa during her final year at East Carolina University, where she studied Psychology and Philosophy. While exploring the physiological and psychological benefits of yoga for a class project, she discovered not just inspiration but a life-changing path—one that offered mental clarity, emotional healing, and powerful tools for self-care. After five years of dedicated practice, Melissa completed her first 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2015 at Shri Yogi Hari's ashram in Miramar, Florida. She went on to complete a second 200-hour training in 2018, focusing on diverse yogic traditions, asana, and anatomy, while assisting her teacher at the Yoga Garden. She is also a Reiki Master, Life Coach, and trained practitioner in Yin, Restorative, and Thai Yoga Massage. In 2019, she completed her third 200-hour training through the Yoga Girl® method. Since becoming a mother in 2021, she has expanded her work to include family mindfulness, sound healing, and crystal bowl study.
