Tour #1:
Giza, Sakkara, Dashur, and the Egyptian Museum

September 3-8, 2006

September 3rd: Depart USA from JFK airport in New York via Egypt Air

September 4th: Arrive in Cairo in the morning, transport to the Mena House Hotel in Giza (right next to the Pyramids). Snack on the bus, dinner together at the hotel, and then rest from the flight. D

September 5th: Tour the Giza Plateau, with its three great pyramids, queen's pyramids, Isis Temple, Sphinx, Valley Temple, and panorama view; including private meditation time in the Great Pyramid! Enjoy a camel ride on the plateau and visit a papyrus shop. Enjoy a wonderful dinner at Le Meridian Hotel. Overnight at the Mena House. B, L, D.

September 6th: Tour Sakkara, including Mere Ruka's tomb, with its beautiful painted walls; Teti's Pyramid, with its ancient text and starry ceiling; the Jubilee Temple of Pharaoh Djoser; and then on to Dahsfur, with its three amazing pyramids: the Red, "Bent," and Black Pyramid. Then visit a carpet factory and jewelry shop. Breakfast at hotel, lunch in Sakkara, dinner at Le Meridian. Overnight at the Mena House. B, L, D.

September 7th: Tour the magnificent Egyptian Museum in Cairo, lunch on the Nile River, and relaxing evening to take in all the amazing things you have just seen. B, L, D.

September 8th: Morning departure from Cairo to JFK. Arrive at 3:30pm.

September 8th: Continue your journey through Egypt as you fly to Luxor, and enjoy the beautiful Movenpick Resort, located directly on the bank of the Nile. Enjoy a lovely dinner at your new home for the next few days. B, L, D.

September 9th: Visit the mammoth Karnak temple (over 60 acres, the largest temple in ancient Egypt). Lunch along the Nile. Visit the beautiful Luxor temple, laid out in the pattern of the human body. Visit a T-shirt shop for embroidered, personalized cartouches, and a book shop. B, L, D.

September 10th: Visit the valley of the Kings, Queens, and Artisans. Here you will visit the beautifully painted tombs, the temple of Hatshepsut (the famous female Pharaoh), the large Habu temple of Ramases III, and a statue shop. Free late afternoon and evening. B, L, D.

September 11th: Fly from Luxor to Cairo. Use this relaxing day to reflect on your travels and say your goodbye's to the wonderful people you have met on your journey. Overnight at the Jolie Ville airport hotel. B, L, D.

September 12th: Morning departure from Cairo to JFK. Arrive at 3:30pm.

September 3-16, 2006

September 11th: Continue your journey by visiting the Luxor Museum, and then check in to your Nile Cruise Boat to begin a wonderful cruise down the Nile. B, L, D.

September 12th: Enjoy this day admiring the scenery of the Nile, as well as your cruise ship, while cruising the Nile. B, L, D.

September 13th: Continue cruising and stop to visit Esna Temple and Kom Ombo.

September 14th: Arrive in beautiful Aswan. Free morning and then afternoon visit to Elephantine Island for a wonderful tour and delicious Nubian style lunch, visit the museum and Khunom Temple via Feluccas (native sailboats). B, L, D.

Optional tour to Abu Simbel to visit the magnificent temple on Lake Nasser. Return to Aswan the same day. Price: $200

September 15th: Visit Philae temple and fly to Cairo in the late afternoon. Check in to the Jolie Ville Airport hotel. B, L, D.
