You may participate in A.R.E.'s Prayer Outreach in several
ways. First is with the Glad Helpers prayer group here
in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This group, dedicated to
service through prayer, has been meeting continuously
since Edgar Cayce started it in 1931. They study the
material on prayer given in the readings, then meditate
and pray together and offer the laying-on-of-hands for
those who request it.
Come visit the group during their weekly meetings on Wednesdays from 9am to noon in the A.R.E. Visitors Center Meditation Room. The A.R.E. is located at 215 67th St. at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Visitors are truly welcomed and enfolded in prayer.
Another way in which to participate is through the International
Printed Prayer List. This is a monthly communication
from the A.R.E. Prayer Services department, which includes
the list of names of people who have requested prayer
for healing. This is a cooperative activity; we ask
that those who request prayer also agree to pray for
themselves and for others who have requested prayer.
The Glad Helpers Group prays for the individuals on
this list as well; those who participate by praying
for others in essence join with the Glad Helpers in
this prayer network. If you are interested in making
the commitment to participate in this way, please click
on the link at the right for guidelines and a prayer
request form.
The third way in which to participate in prayer is through the World
Prayer Group. This is a worldwide internet-based group, which is non-denominational and inclusive of all religious faiths and beliefs. You may participate by posting a prayer request and/or signing up to pray for those requests that come through the site. A database of all the prayer requests in kept at the A.R.E. Requests are kept for a month, at which time they must be renewed if desired. Please click on the link to the World Prayer Group at the right to join in this Internet prayer activity.
