General Massage School Admission Requirements
Cayce/Reilly applicants must:
- Be at least eighteen years of age

- Show proof of high school completion or GED, or in the absence of these, transcripts from a secondary school showing at least sixty credits

- Complete a massage school application and submit the $75 application fee
- Be able to speak and understand the English language sufficiently to participate in classes and complete the massage school program

- Provide two reference letters, from professional persons if possible; letters from family members will not be accepted as references

- Provide proof of receipt of two professional massages

- Provide a physician's letter stating that the applicant is in good health, physically able to practice massage, and free of communicable disease

- Provide proof of negative tuberculosis test

- Have a personal or telephone interview with the admissions manager or director of education

- Provide a valid student visa form (I-20) if a foreign student; see "International
Students"
All massage school applicants are screened and interviewed by our staff and evaluated on their motivation and academic ability to benefit from our program, without discrimination on the basis of age, sex, race, national or ethnic origin, religion, creed, sexual preference, or general disability.

Massage School Admission Process
- Cayce/Reilly School applicant mails the completed application form and a $75 nonrefundable application fee to the school

- Applicant has copies of high school diploma, GED, or college transcripts forwarded to the school

- Applicant has two reference letters or reference forms provided with application mailed or faxed directly to the school by those persons

- Applicant sends proof of receipt of having received two professional massages

- Applicant has physical exam and TB test no more than twelve months before massage school begins; the school reserves the right to decline admission in the absence of a valid physician's letter of health

- Applicant has telephone or personal interview

- Applicant is given verbal acceptance, followed by a written letter of acceptance

- Applicant pays $300 deposit to hold place in class, $100 of which is nonrefundable in the event of nonattendance

Massage School Admissions Process for International Students
The Cayce/Reilly School is approved by the U.S. Department of Immigration to issue I-20 certificates of eligibility for nonimmigrant students. To be considered for admission to the massage school and for issuance of an I-20 certificate, students must meet all requirements for admission and also must:
- Complete and sign a Financial Statement/Affidavit of Support, verified by a bank or employer; a letter from the sponsor, proclaiming financial responsibility and guaranteeing financial support for the student, must accompany the financial support affidavit (the U.S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization requires the school to determine how an international student will meet expenses while enrolled at the school before the school is permitted to issue an I-20 form)

- Provide proof of a score of at least 450 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam or proof of English-language speaking and reading ability acceptable to the school administrator

- Be free of contagious disease; any question regarding this requirement should be discussed with the massage school administrator at the time the application is made

Denial of Admission
This institution reserves the right to deny admission to any applicant for reasons including, but not limited to:
- Failure to meet the stated entrance requirements

- Lacking the physical capabilities to perform massage

- Having health problems that interfere with duties as a student or massage practitioner

- Inability to meet financial obligations to the school

- Exhibiting a lack of motivation or incompatible philosophy regarding bodywork
The massage school may deny admission if it is deemed that an education in massage will not be beneficial to the applicant

Transfer Credit/Testing Out:
Prospective students who have taken college level Anatomy/Physiology will be allowed to test out of our Anatomy/Physiology I and Anatomy/Physiology II courses after meeting the following criteria:
- Completion of a comparable course (in both subject matter and hours) at another postsecondary school

- Submission of syllabus (for comparison) and transcript that indicates course was passed with a minimum of a "C"

- Hours must meet or exceed the hours offered at the Cayce/Reilly School

- Course taken at other postsecondary school must have been done within previous five years

- There is a $100 nonrefundable test-out fee to sit for the test-out exam (one per class)

- The prospective student must pass the exam(s) with a minimum of 80%

- Should the prospective student not make a minimum of 80%, that student will then be required to pay the tuition in full for the course and take the course at the Cayce/Reilly School

Cancellation and Refund Policy
All cancellation and refund policies meet the requirements of the Virginia Board of Education:
All payments remitted to the school (except the $75 application fee and $100 of the student's deposit) shall be refunded
to the student if he/she is found to be ineligible to attend or withdraws prior to the beginning of classes.
For massage students who pay by semester:
- A student who enters the program but withdraws or is terminated during the first quarter (25%) of the semester is
entitled to receive as a refund a minimum of 50% of the stated cost of the course or program FOR THE SEMESTER

- A student who enters the program but withdraws after completing a quarter (25%), but less than half (50%) of the
semester is entitled to receive as a refund a minimum of 25% of the stated cost of the course or program FOR THE
SEMESTER

- A student who withdraws after completing half, or more than half, of the semester is not entitled to a refund
For massage students who pay in full for the entire program:
- A student who enters school but withdraws or is terminated during the first quarter (25%) of the program shall be
entitled to a minimum refund amounting to 75% of the cost of the program

- A student who withdraws or is terminated during the second quarter of the program shall be entitled to a minimum
refund amounting to 50% of the cost of the program

- A student who withdraws or is terminated during the third quarter of the program shall be entitled to a minimum refund
amounting to 25% of the cost of the program

- A student who withdraws or is terminated after completing three quarters (75%) of the program shall not be entitled to a refund
All cancellation and refund policies include massage students who are participating in SLM financial assistance.
For students who are paying per hour as they progress through the massage program:
- Any part-time student who withdraws after classes have started will be charged for the hours completed

- Withdrawal from the school must be in writing

- All refunds are calculated and made within 30 days of receipt of written notice

Code of Ethics
This code of ethics is a summary statement by which the Cayce/Reilly School and all its members (administration, faculty, massage students) agree to conduct themselves and is a declaration of the general principles of acceptable, ethical, professional behavior.
Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy members shall support the mission of the School:
To offer a quality, comprehensive education in both the art and science of massage therapy based on the holistic principles of the Edgar Cayce readings and in the spirit of Dr. Harold J. Reilly. The massage school supports A.R.E.'s mission to change lives for the better through the concepts in the Cayce readings.
- Behave with integrity, honesty, and competence in all professional relationships with the school, other school members, faculty, staff, students, the massage therapy profession, other healthcare providers and society

- Apply and follow the established massage school code of ethics and all school rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to current educational, ethical, and professional standards for massage therapists and bodyworkers.

- Represent the massage school and its programs with professional as well as personal integrity and honesty in all forms of communication.

- Educate students to only represent themselves in an ethical and professional manner and provide only services for which they are qualified.

- Conduct a massage school program that provides state of the art education and represents all ethical and other standards of the profession as well as all applicable laws and regulations

- Provide a positive, focused educational environment that is conducive to learning and development and addresses a variety of learning styles. It includes, but is not limited to, a physical space with appropriate lighting, heat/air/cleanliness, and equipment.

- Conduct the massage school program in a manner that respects and teaches the students boundaries and privacy on all levels, including appropriate draping, physical privacy and matters of confidentiality. The same rights, privileges, and responsibilities apply to all other members of the school. Any sexual misconduct will be considered a violation of this code of ethics.

- Uphold principles and standards that value the dignity and worth of all persons regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, creed, sexual identity, gender, disability and/or health status.

Massage Student Conduct Policy
Massage students are expected to behave in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Honesty, integrity, and clear intent are necessary components for work as a massage therapist. A massage student may be placed on probation, suspended, or dismissed for conduct that includes, but is not limited to:
- Use, consumption, or distribution of alcohol or illegal drugs on school premises

- Attending class under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs

- Possession or use of any weapon on school premises

- Violation of school policy on infectious conditions

- Sexual activity on school premises

- Sexual advances or activity in a massage therapy setting, regardless of location

- Violation of school draping/nudity policy or violation of appropriate touch, as taught in class

- Failure to maintain appropriate hygiene

- Cheating

- Using profane language or exhibiting abusive behavior toward classmates and/or faculty/administration

- Threatening a fellow student, faculty, staff, or administrative person

- Any behavior that is deemed by the administrative staff to be inconsistent with the standards of the school and profession of massage therapy
Cooperation with and sensitivity to others is both valued and expected at the Cayce/Reilly School.

Standards for Academic Progress
Program material is taught in a sequential manner and requires each student to meet performance criteria for each course before moving to the next level of course work.
Progress is measured by:
- Quizzes and examinations for theoretical material

- Demonstration of practical material, student feedback, and instructor feedback, plus hands-on evaluations of practical material

- Documented massages outside of class, study reports, and completion of assigned homework, in addition to classroom time
Massage students experiencing difficulties may utilize a variety of options to improve their scholastic standing, including individual and group tutoring, study groups, or counseling with administrative staff or faculty.

Graduation and Diploma Standards
Successful completion of the Cayce/Reilly School massage therapy program will be achieved when the student completes the following:
- The full 700-hour program with an average of seventy percent or better

- Return of all library books and equipment

- Payment of all tuition and fees

- Completion of all required clinical work

- Current CPR/first aid certificate (those who are certified prior to attending school must provide a valid copy of their certification prior to graduation)

Transfer of Credits
The Cayce/Reilly School does not guarantee transferability of its credits to any other educational institution. That transferability is up to the receiving institution.
Student Services
The Cayce/Reilly School staff is dedicated to supporting our students in their experience of personal and professional growth. We are pleased to provide an "Alternate Housing List" for students who wish to explore the possibility of renting a room/shared living arrangements with A.R.E. staff, members, and volunteers. Such arrangements are common and made between the student and the listed resource.
The process of learning and practicing massage and bodywork therapies often brings up opportunities for the student/practitioner to heal him/herself. Because we are committed to fostering only the most highly qualified massage professionals, our staff maintains a list of local A.R.E. volunteers with counseling credentials who are available to students.

Tuition
In order to secure your spot in the massage program you will need to send a deposit
of $300.00. This deposit will be credited toward your fist semester balance. The deposit is due within one week of receipt of this letter. Your spot is not guaranteed until we receive your deposit.
Tuition for the seven hundred and twenty five hour program is $7,975. That breaks out to $3,987.50 for each semester. Your $300 deposit will be deducted from your first payment to the school.
The Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy offers several tuition payment plans.

Plan #3: Monthly Payments
Eight monthly payments of $1,087.50. A finance fee of $1.00 per hour for a total of $12 per hour is added to the total tuition in order for a student to pay in monthly installments.
Plan #4: SLM Corporation
If you are applying for a student loan with the SLM corporation, you will need to be approved by SLM, and they will send your approval to the massage school. Please call for instructions regarding your $300.00 deposit prior to filing with SLM.
Once we receive your approval, you will need to sign the paperwork at our office. You will also need to supply us with a copy of a recent pay stub or your co-borrows pay stub), and a copy of your driver's license.

Tuition Assistance
Students who would like to attend the Cayce/Reilly School can apply for a
career loan through SLM, a Sallie Mae Corporation. There are several different
payment options once the student is approved (see above).The Cayce/Reilly School is now approved to offer Federal
Financial Aid to those who qualify.
Additionally, the Cayce/Reilly School has had students sponsored by a number of private and government agencies, such as:
- The Department of Rehabilitative Services

- The Department of the Visually Handicapped

- Various state employment commissions

- The Economic Dislocation and Worker Adjustment Assistance Act (EDWAA); information on this program is available by calling the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Worker Retraining, 202.219.5577 or at www.doleta.gov/programs/factsht/edwaa.htm

- Veterans' Assistance*
*Students who enroll and have their tuition reimbursed by Veterans' Assistance are ultimately responsible for the payment of all tuition. Students who are enrolled under VA are required to pay in one of two ways: (1) full tuition at the start of the program, or (2) half tuition at the beginning of the first semester and the remaining half at the beginning of the second semester. Inability to meet financial arrangements will result in financial probation and possible termination from the program. In the case of termination, any monies still owed to the school may be turned over to our collection agency, at which time their fee will be added to the balance due, in addition to the possibility of court costs, attorney's fees, etc., should the balance remain unpaid.
