This three-day comprehensive workshop focuses on stretching techniques that are fascia, muscle, and joint
specific. Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) adheres to Sherrington's Law of Reciprocal Innervation (“agonist antagonist balance”) and Wolfe’s law which
states, “the body will adapt to the stresses put upon it.” When these stretching techniques are properly applied, the result is muscle and fascia
(superficial and deep) lengthening, increased flexibility, improved circulation, increased oxygen to the tissue, stronger lymph flow, and overall
wellbeing. The stretches are presented in a series of protocols for each muscle group. Self care of the students is emphasized. Contraindications and

Dr. Edward Bach believed that healing should be made available to everyone. His simple and effective
techniques are practiced worldwide. This intensive level class is an in depth conversation about the
history and benefits of Bach Flower Therapy. We’ll memorize all 37 original flower essences, their
emotional category and common attributes. Using a Bach Flower Questionnaire, we’ll learn how to evaluate
and create a personal Bach Flower Remedy. By the end of the weekend you’ll know how to safely prepare,
care for and apply any of Bach Flower Remedies. You will make a 1 ounce bottle of your Personal Remedy
to bring home.
Sunday’s session will focus on our furry and feathered companions who do so much to ensure our happiness

discussion as well as an exchange. Learn a 15-minute hand routine using the hand techniques taught
previously in Levels II and III. Play a review game for the final exam in Level V with categories that
include: history, book titles, reflexes, foot anatomy, body systems, ethics, terminology and pathology.
Complete a book report and take a quiz on body systems from the book The Joy of Reflexology, by Ann
Gillanders and foot and leg anatomy from An Illustrated Atlas of the Sketetal Muscles by Bradley Bowden
and Joan Bowden, as well as medical terminology from the Level III handout.

Note: Part II presents the remaining 6 meridians, plus the techniques and exercises associated with
those meridians. After completing both Beginning I, Part I & Part II will receive recognition by the
Ohashi Institute as having participated in the Beginning I course.

types: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. You’ll also learn, and experience, the healing benefits of certain Ayurvedic treatments, which include: full body

Learn to evaluate and help your clients resolve inefficient postural habits that underlie chronic back, neck pain, and
more. Techniques to work with spinal curvatures and scoliosis will be presented and practiced. Post techniques are used to assess and release areas of
tension, to integrate and deepen the work done in a session. This class also presents exercises and movements that develop a person’s ability to
maintain balance, initiate self-correction through postural work and prevent the recurrence of pain through neuromuscular re-education. Postural
Re-Education helps resolve the underlying cause of chronic back and neck pain quickly because you teach your clients how to help themselves between
sessions. Important to any bodywork practitioner who wants to help relieve chronic pain, Postural re-education is another way to build your practice and

Caring for Clients with Cancer: Simple Steps to Safe, Effective Massage Therapy*

This intensive course combines the art and science of touch to create safe, effective massage sessions for clients with cancer, in cancer treatment, and
with cancer histories. In a lively, supportive learning environment, we carefully debunk the long-held contraindication to massage and discuss current
research findings about the benefits of touch for people with cancer. Participants learn essential cancer intake questions, proper follow-up on the
client’s answers, and proven strategies for involving a client’s physician when necessary. We describe concrete massage adjustments for surgery,
radiation, chemotherapy, bone metastasis, and vital organ involvement. A balanced approach to learning blends lecture, spirited discussion, and hands-on
work with volunteer clients with cancer. Music, art, and literature by people who have had cancer help expand our understanding of the journey. Massage
therapists from varied backgrounds and massage settings leave with tools that continue to support them in their work: sample client intake forms,
physician information and permission materials, and summaries of massage research.
* We are seeking volunteer clients for a free massage therapy session within this training. People experiencing treatment, diagnosis, and life beyond

You’ll complete a thirty-minute practical exam in which they are required to demonstrate reflexology techniques on the instructor’s feet. Instructor
determines the proficiency of each student based on pressure, holding techniques, thumb walking, fingerwalking, relaxation techniques, and knowledge of
the reflex points. You will be rated in each technique using excellent, good, average, or poor. An average score is needed to pass. Along with the
practical and written exam, you’ll participate in our “Spa Day.” Depending upon time, you’ll learn techniques using hot stones on the feet, footcials
(which are facials for the feet), and some vertical reflexology. After all documented sessions are complete (you have up to six months to complete this

This workshop is for both the novice and the massage therapist interested in learning the Cayce/Reilly technique. Receive a thorough introduction to the
unique Cayce/Reilly massage technique by giving and receiving massage. Practice the basic massage strokes; learn proper body mechanics and proper
draping.
