If you ask most people where they store stress and tension they will tell you the neck and shoulders. While this is true, they are unaware that their feet, legs, and pelvis are also chronically tense. Myofascial constrictions in the lower body is just as enervating as it is elsewhere in the body and it distorts the way people stand, walk, and move. This workshop will build on what you learned in the Upper Body course so that you will be able to offer your clients a complete head to toe Myofascial Release Massage. You will also be able to deal more effectively with specific complaints from low back pain and plantar fascitis. By the end of the seminar you will have felt the difference the Myofascial Release Massage makes to the lower body alone, and the difference the Upper Body and Lower Body work makes to the entire body. You'll feel more relaxed, more grounded, more graceful, and probably taller. The course will include a review of all strokes taught in the Myofascial Release Massage, Upper Body. This class is known as Phase 4, but covers Phases 1-4. Movements and positions of comfort facilitate the release of overall stress and tension in muscles, fascia, ligaments and tendons by stimulating the body's self-corrective, proprioceptive (neuromuscular and neuro-ligamentous) reflexes, often in as little as 10 seconds. The body restores alignment, function, circulation and overall well-being naturally, from the inside-out. The use and practice of these techniques are demonstrated in relation to the philosophy and principles of Ortho-Bionomy. These techniques help relieve all kinds of joint pain, muscular pain, fascial pain, referred pain, tingling and problems related to nerve impingement; increase range of motion and flexibility; speed recovery from injury; as well as promote deep, restorative relaxation, which is so important for health and overall well-being.
