Dreams as Guidance to Life's Questions by Kevin Todeschi

Here's my dream -
My 9-year-old daughter has recently begun to have recurring dreams about walking through a cemetery. She wakes up crying every time. She says the particular graveyard continues to change throughout the dream, but she is always walking, walking, walking. Last night she awakened sobbing. When she was able, she told me that in this dream she was looking down into empty graves. These dreams are really scary to her. I feel I need to offer a little background in order for this dream to be properly interrupted. My husband suffered a massive stroke when my daughter was 7. She was alone with him and actually called 911. His health is constantly on her mind. He has recovered about 40%. His condition is quite hard on all of us. Please let me know if you can help us better understand her dream. Thank you.
Dear Dreamer, The dreams seem to suggest that there is a part of your daughter that is constantly on guard and waiting for your husband to die. Whether friends of hers have been talking about his eventual death, or he's talked about it, or family members have talked about it - the dreams suggest that she is spending a lot of time worrying about his dying. If this is the case, I think you need to have ongoing conversations with her about her father's condition now and in the future. In order to reassure her, I would also recommend working with presleep suggestion: As she falls asleep just speak gently and reassuringly that she is going to be okay. Also, depending on your husband's condition, it would be good for her to have ongoing "quality time" with him, even if it simply entails her reading a book to him. Good luck to you. –

Here's my dream -
I am 28-years-old, from the Middle East. I had a strange dream today! I was with my mother and one of my sisters in a very high building in our city. Our city does not have any building that rise that high. I was able to see a wonderful view of the city that I never saw before with buildings and green areas everywhere. I was scared of the height, yet very appreciated to the view. Suddenly while we are touring in that high floor, a beautiful large bird (looks very similar to a falcon) flew by and landed on his nest. Suddenly I realized that the bird has a long neck and has two heads one at the top of his neck and the other at the bottom next to his body. I was astonished by the bird and had another mixed feeling of appreciation and fear. I never thought of knowing what a dream mean but this dream made me look around and want to interpret it.
Dear Dreamer, The fact that you are able to see far expanses from a height not normally available in your city could suggest that your vision and understanding exceeds that of most people. In a dream, a bird is generally symbolic of a "messenger." The fact that this bird has a long neck, which can be symbolic of the human will, and the fact that it has two heads, which can be associated with a dual understanding, could indicate that YOU have an extremely powerful will and, in addition to being something of a visionary, you have a dual understanding about life. In other words, this might be the case if you had a Middle Eastern heritage and a Western education, or maybe parents with two diverse religious backgrounds. Taken together, the dream may suggest that you have a role to play in sharing this broad understanding and perspective with others. –

Here's my dream -
I submitted this before on behalf of my father but haven't seen a reply posted. I really hope this time it will be selected because it's bothering him. My dad is 73 years old and started having a recurring dream. Several times he dreamed he was working underground. In each dream he is doing some type of manual labor and he hates it and wants to leave but can't. He feels desperate to get out and tries various hallways or tunnels but can't find his way out. In the last dream he is trying to find his way out again but this time he's anxious to get out because he's supposed to pick his son up and doesn't want to be late. He doesn't remember in the dream how he gets out but he finally finds his way out and his son is waiting for him. He tells dad, "I've been waiting for you, it took you ten minutes." This all might sound so silly except that my brother died 9 years ago so my dad is really wondering what this might mean. If you have any ideas what this might mean I know my dad would really appreciate hearing it. Thank you.
Dear Dreamer, One possibility suggested by the underground imagery is that your father may be spending a lot of his time dealing with issues, thoughts, or suppressed feelings from the past. Part of that has occurred as he may have tried to understand aspects of his life, come to terms with certain events, or deal with specific regrets. In terms of your father's son, the Edgar Cayce material suggests that real communication can occur between the living and the deceased, and this may indicate that your father's son will be ready to great him when the time finally comes for your father to make his transition - an event that may be further away than your father originally surmised. I hope that helps. Your father may wish to read TESTIMONY OF LIGHT, by Helen Greaves, dealing with communication between the living and the deceased. –

Here's my dream -
My daughter asked that I write (because I am an A.R.E. member) to ask your thoughts on her dream. She was in my mom's house - the house that I grew up in. She was upstairs in a bedroom, sitting with me. She went downstairs to the kitchen to get some fruit. She opened the refrigerator door and saw two peaches. One of the peaches was sort of oblong shaped, which she thought to be strange so she chose the normal looking peach. As she looked to her left she noticed, on the floor, a black scorpion. She was afraid that the scorpion would sting her, so she went back upstairs. As she headed up the stairs, the scorpion was behind her and moving fast. The scorpion turned into a lobster. I asked my daughter what does this house represent to her or what emotions does she associate with this house. She replied, "When I was younger, my cousins used to tease me and I was afraid to fight back for fear that this would escalate into a bigger problem. They would criticize me because I would always try to do what was right." My daughter is a FIT graduate (extremely creative, highly intelligent, and multi-talented). I am her number one fan. I am a firm believer in A.R.E. as you have helped me to garner information concerning my soul purpose. Please help my daughter.
Dear Dreamer, As you imagined, because of your daughter's association with the symbol, the dream has to do with criticism. However, the rest of the imagery lends itself to essentially two different possibilities. The peach, refrigerator and kitchen could all be associated with diet and health. Since your daughter was involved with these things before the scorpion/lobster, it might indicate that she has a poor self-image about her shape (e.g. oblong rather than normal) and this image is impacting her diet - perhaps signifying the possibility of or the tendency towards an eating disorder. The second possibility is that the scorpion/lobster is associated with "biting words" or criticism coming from others, causing her to retreat into her thoughts (e.g. up the stairs) rather than trying to face and/or deal with the situation. I hope this helps. –

Here's my dream -
I really do hope you can interpret my dream. I have sent it in several times. I constantly dream the same thing: I go into this building (most of the times it's a hotel, others a school or hospital); I always get into an elevator and I either can't remember the floor or I can't find it. Then every time I leave the building, I can't find my car, and always come out to a street and have to ask directions on how to get back to the building. Even though in my dream it is a very familiar building, I can't ever find my way out. Sometimes, I also fly instead of walk. Once I'm out of the building, I also try to tell people how easy it is to fly. I try not to fly too high which in my dream I can, but I stay just over and above the buildings and I fly over water too. The flying is wonderful and leaves me refreshed and happy. However, not finding my way around upsets me very much in the dream and even after I wake up. Please try to interpret this dream. I can't stop dreaming it. Thank you very much.
Dear Dreamer, The imagery related to not being able to find your way around suggests that you may have so much on your mind that sometimes it is hard to keep track of what's going and even why you may be doing something in the first place. This is the dream of someone who always feels like they are behind or just barely keeping on track of things. The flying sequence suggests either that you find relief in your mind OR it is reassurance from your own higher self that eventually this period will pass and you will be "soaring" in terms of personal achievement of your goals. I hope that helps.

Here's my dream...
I am a little weirded out. Two nights ago I had a dream I was in a mansion/museum. It was a very old place with hardwood floors. When I looked at the floor, I saw dark shadows sliding across and I knew they were ghosts but I was not scared. Then one of the ghosts appeared and I was talking to him - I said, "You're not my grandfather," and he said, "No." We just went on talking and walking (he was not really walking though, more like moving with me) through the house. Not once was I scared, but I don't know what this means I have been working on myself with hypnosis and meditation and trying to open my unconscious. I have had experiences with relatives who have passed on before. But I didn't know this man I think he had on a gray suit and a hat. He had a big smile. If you could offer insight, that would be great.–
Dear Dreamer, In all likelihood, your work with meditation and hypnosis has opened you up to other levels of consciousness. The old house/mansion is probably symbolic of yourself and the various aspects of your talents/personalities/traits that are a part of your soul. While exploring this aspect of "self" - perhaps brought on by your work with altered states - you may have inadvertently opened yourself up to seeing other levels of reality in which ghosts are very real. Although not necessarily dangerous to someone who is grounded and stable, this level can be dangerous to anyone with an emotional problem or with a drug and/or alcohol addiction. In order to gain more awareness of these various levels of consciousness as well as safe and unsafe ways to explore them, let me recommend the books Venture Inward by Hugh Lynn Cayce, and Testimony of Light, by Helen Greaves. In order to safely exploring meditation, let me encourage you to check out A.R.E.'s FREE online meditation course, which you can find at this link:http://edgarcayce.org/Meditation/welcome.html. In terms of working with hypnosis in a safe format, let me recommend the book: Self Hypnosis: Creating Your Own Destiny by Henry Leo Bolduc.–

Dear Dreamer, If the dream has a literal component, it could be indicating that you are having Out Of Body experiences in the dream state. In other words, you may be literally traveling out of your body. A likely metaphorical interpretation is that you may be somewhat uncomfortable around people and therefore "retreat" to spend time in your own head, even while in a group. If this is the case, the dream could be suggesting that you need to figure out how to be more comfortable around people so that you are not so isolated in a group setting. –

Here's my dream -
I've had this happen to me a few times in dreams - always a different dream. I am usually in a room with other people, then all of the sudden I am whisked up (or just start floating fast) to the ceiling. And there I am looking at everyone, a little scared and a little amazed. The ceiling is what stops me! It use to scare me but then after having that happen a few times in my dream it wasn't so scary, just confusing as to why and if it is a good thing. Please answer this as it keeps bothering me and I keep thinking about it. Thank you for this service.

I had this dream that I was trapped on an island. I was trying to find my way out but the waves were too big for a boat to go out, but the water was clear and not that deep because I saw somebody standing in the water and it is only above his knee. –
Dear Dreamer, Oftentimes dreams try to bring to mind images and symbols as a means of evoking certain emotions or feelings that correspond to something going on in our waking life. You've already stated that you associated prisons with fear, so quite simply the dreams might be trying to portray the fact that you are "fearful" of certain things happening in your family situation. It's not that the dreams have anything necessarily to do with prison. Instead, prison is a metaphor for things of which you are afraid. Possibilities might include: being fearful that your son will be unable to find a job he really likes, or being worried that you will not be able to put up with the stress of having a grown son back home, etc. I hope that helps. –

Here's my dream -
I am in an elevator and it starts to fall. It keeps falling and it doesn’t seem to stop. I keep having the dream over and over. I’m in the elevator when it falls and I'm screaming for help but no one will help me. Also before the elevator falls it turns completely over and then falls. Last night I was on the elevator with other people and we stopped on floor 4 but no one got off and then the doors closed and I was alone (the people were gone) and it started to fall, but it wouldn't hit bottom. It never seems to hit bottom; I wake up first. But if I was on floor 4 then it shouldn't have fell very far but it kept falling. It is a very scary dream and I need to know what it means. I've never really been afraid of elevators.
Dear Dreamer, Dreams about falling – either free-fall falling or falling in an elevator – can be symbolic of feeling like you are in a situation that is out of control. The number “4” can be associated with stability or materiality. Being alone and screaming but no help coming is often suggestive of being isolated in a situation that an individuals cannot see his or her way out of. Finally, the reason you wake up in the dream is because we have normal physiological responses in the dream state – in other words, you’re having an adrenalin rush during the dream, your heart beats faster and you are awakened from the sleep state. Overall, the dream suggests that something in your life is out of control and you are totally confused as to what you can do about it. If this is the case, I would suggest getting out of your isolation and finding a counselor or a close friend with whom you can talk. –

Here's my dream -
To preface, I’ve been struggling for years with discovering my life purpose. When I want to feel calm, I go in my mind to this dream. I would appreciate hearing your interpretation of it. Here it is: I’m in a lake sitting in a small, plain wooden boat with this lady that I feel is my mate. I cannot see a physical form (I rarely see people as solid in my dreams, perhaps reflecting Einstein’s view that we are energetic beings); however, I know this is her, my spiritual partner. We decide to float up to the clouds. Our energies are intertwining, weaving in and out of one another. The energy exchange transcends any earth-bound sexual experience, yet feels much like that. Our energies merge in a most soothing way. We decide we want to come back down to earth and help, so we do. I’m falling REALLY fast! And all of the sudden, I realize it is no longer a small lake below us, but a HUGE ocean! Even though I’m an excellent swimmer, I’ve always had an irrational fear of deep water (panicked and almost drowned in a lake as a kid. As I’m falling, I start telling myself it’s going to be okay and that the water will be "warm and calm." Sure enough, the water is not only warm and calm when I fall into it, my mate is there and we are very near the shore of what I remember thinking was Morocco. We won’t climb back in the boat because it now has a newspaper in it we feel is precious and cannot get wet. We pull the boat to the Moroccan shore. It’s a barter town much like the one in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (where the world as it is had been destroyed and this little barter town in the middle of the desert was all that was left of "civilization." I had a recurring dream about the world being destroyed and being all alone in the desert as a kid.) The barter man at the podium is very gruff with us at first. After waiting through a long line, he tells us we must fill out a mountain of paperwork. We do not let it discourage us at all. We fill it out and now there is no line. We go right up to the Barter Man and turn in the paperwork. His attitude is totally receptive now. He is delighted to take the paperwork and says that the "king" really wants what we are bartering (the newspaper). Perhaps I should mention that I’ve been considering writing a book. It’s an anthology of interviews from people who have healed mental health holistically. I was in the mental hospital when I had this very vivid, comforting dream. I have since restored my own mental health holistically, thanks to encouragement in part from the Cayce readings. Thanks for your time and attention in reading this lengthy excerpt.
Dear Dreamer, Content In brief, the first portion of the dream sounds like a soul experience in consciousness. In other words, it sounds like your subconscious mind recalled an actually “experience” your soul had had before incarnating. The second part suggests that one of your soul missions is to work with some form of communication – in spite of various challenges and unusual personalities that come your way. Perhaps part of your experience in the mental health facility enabled you to understand how individuals can continue on even in the face of having their entire world “destroyed.” Perhaps that is one thing you are supposed to write about. God bless you. –

Here's my dream -
I have recurring dreams – the scenes and places change but in each case I am lost, trying to get back home or to area or neighborhood that I know. In each case there are obstacles such as huge rivers giant cities and so on that I can't seem to find my way across or through, I long to get back but am not sure how?
Dear Dreamer, As you have already stated, the theme of these dreams is “someone is lost.” This suggests that part of you either doesn’t know what to do in a situation or that sometimes you feel as if you have yet to discover what you really want to do with your life. In the first case, the dream might be occurring as a “memory pattern” whenever you feel lost in life. In other words, the images have become a symbol for you of person confusion. On the other hand, if it is your life purpose and direction you are searching for, let me recommend a book entitled, Discovering Your Soul’s Purpose, by Mark Thurston. Good luck to you. –

Here's my dream -
In my dream I was walking through a dark forest with a friend then we had to walk up wooden steps to a wooden bridge that was shaking and about to break. She walked half way across but I was too afraid and walked back down the stairs backwards. She ran after me and held my hand and walked with me.
Dear Dreamer, Essentially, the dream suggests that your friend – or qualities that your friend possesses that you will find within yourself – is going to help you through a situation. The fact that she is walking across the bridge with you, could suggest that she (or whatever she represents to you) is going to help you deal with the situation or it might indicate that she has already been through a similar situation in her own life. In any event, it suggests that there is something you can learn from her in terms of how you might deal with whatever it is you have been thinking about doing at this point in your life. –

Here's my dream -
I had a dream about two weeks ago that I got lost on a school bus and had been dropped off in a town about 30 miles from me. After I got off the bus, I saw a missile hit the ground and blow up. I had a lot of reporters around me asking me questions about the bombing. I was not frightened of the event but astonished it happened. What makes this dream “real” is that today I went to a friend’s house (and was unfamiliar with the area) and saw the exact same area in my dream where I was lost. I remembered the dream after I had it and then was reminded of it again after seeing this place. This was definitely the exact same place in the dream as my dream was very vivid.
Dear Dreamer, Edgar Cayce’s life story as well as the Cayce material itself suggests that the mind is not limited to the conventional ideas of time and space. I think you had the experience of dreaming about a place before seeing it for the very reason you mentioned – so that you would remember the dream. With that in mind, the dream is suggesting that you may be in the midst of a personal learning experience (e.g. school bus) that involves unexpected changes and perhaps major changes in your life. Your frame of mind during this seems to be one in which, “I was not frightened of the event but astonished it happened.” Overall, I think the dream is simply preparing you for changes to come, or even changes that you may already be in the midst of. If you would like to read more about Cayce’ own experiences with discovering the capacity of the mind, lLet me recommend the book, There is a River, by Thomas Sugrue. –

Here's my dream -
Hi, I’m a 23-year-old female living in Santiago, Chile. I am about to finish university this year and I am very concerned with the fact that I have to give in my thesis in order to graduate. The other night I dreamt I was on an airplane on a trip with other people to play some kind of sport I don’t remember, maybe something to do with running (I have never been much of a sport fan). We arrived to a sort of very cheap hotel or motel where I had to share the room with some friends. The bathroom was old and filthy, and the bathtub was almost full with mucky water, so I decided I was not going to take a shower in that bathroom during the days we would be there. I realized that I had brought a lot of luggage, things I really didn’t need, like lots of heavy books, an umbrella, and I even took my pet cat. I was permanently worried about him thinking he could run away, and thinking why on earth i had brought him, if at my house he would have been safe. But he acted calmly, slept a lot and didn’t leave my side at any moment. My teacher (who is helping me with my thesis) came to pick us up in a small car, with another teacher sitting in the front seat. I was in the car and we where about to leave when I realized I hadn’t packed my things and that I had left them in the room. I went to get them but they where too heavy and too many to take, everybody got of the car to help me, but I only remember it was still to much stuff to take and the umbrella I had was now broken.
Dear Dreamer, The dream is obviously about your worries and concerns regarding the completion of your thesis. Being on an airplane can be associated with the journey of thoughts and ideas. The sports game you are playing is – in all likelihood – the thesis process in which you are involved with other students doing the same thing. The dirty motel room suggests that part of your doesn’t feel prepared (or even presentable enough) for the experience of giving your thesis. All of the things you “didn’t need” can suggest that you may be over-preparing for the thesis or bringing together elements that are unnecessary. Your cat is probably a symbol of comfort and security – the animal’s safety in the dream suggests that you have nothing to worry about. The presence of your teacher suggests that you will be helped and that everyone wants you to pass. Overall, the dream is associated with your worries about your thesis. I would suggest that you don’t really need to worry – everything looks good! –

Here's my dream -
I'm on a deserted island; an old, abandoned monastery is there. I go up old, stone steps and lie on a stone slab; three nuns in white (can't see their faces) come at me with long steel rods and start poking at me – but I am just a skeleton at this point – no inner organs, just a skeleton. As soon as the nuns leave the room, I become a whole person again, and I walk down more stone steps out to the back of the monastery, where there is a beach, and a long, wide golden sea – it stretches for miles and I cannot see anything else. I feel like I will be on this island in this monastery forever.
Dear Dreamer, The dream may be suggesting that you have been on a long spiritual search – climbing the steps to a monastery. Part of that process has also entailed getting prodded and eliminating aspects of your own spirituality and/or religious upbringing from the past that is no longer worthwhile to you. However, once this process is complete, it appears as though you will have found your spiritual “home.” Overall, the dream seems to be about your own spiritual search process. You might also wish to see some of the dreams in the dream archives regarding “Dreams about Past Lives” because of the imagery of the monastery in your dream. –

Here's my dream -
I am currently on my school swim team and have been having some strange dreams connected to my school, the pool, and things that have nothing to do with my swim team. My dream takes place in my High School lobby, which is different because it has a huge elevator, with no railings, in the center of the floor. I am there with my father and a old school friend and we are waiting to go up to a higher story (the pool is normally on the ground floor). As the time passes I notice that I am at the age that my friend moved away to another school (about ten). I remember her well, although it has been many years since I have been in contact with her. When we get on the elevator my father puts me on his shoulders explaining I need to see better although I’m frustrated and argue that I can see fine. On his shoulders I feel like I’m a mile away from the people and more importantly my friend. Then my dad disappears and I fall down farther than we went up. I wake up with the left over feeling of falling. I am very independent and don’t like to have my parents hovering over me I am wondering what this could mean. Please help!
Dear Dreamer, The act of being in an elevator can be suggestive of going to a different level of awareness and understanding or it might indicate moving to a higher level of achievement. Since you are aware that the pool is lower than the level to which you are traveling, this might indicate the fact that you are aware that you are on a different level of understanding or awareness than some of your friends and team mates on the swim team, especially in terms of what it is you want to do with your life. The friend that you associate with someone who has “moved away,” might suggest that you yourself are aware of the fact that you are “moving away” from some of your friends and associates, most likely because of the things that interest you or because of choices and decisions that you are on the verge of making. Being on your father’s shoulders, could indicate that your upbringing enabled you to see “farther” than others. In other words, it appears that your consciousness and awareness may be much more mature than other individuals your age. In might also indicate that your parents have given you opportunities that some of your friends did not receive. The act of falling down “further than you went up,” could indicate the fear of failing/falling or of taking a chance that is somewhat independent of your friends and family. It might also suggest that it could be advisable to get additional information about what it is you are considering doing so that you don’t fail. Overall, the dream seems to be about the fact that you have reached a stage of independence in your life where you are ready to move on with what comes next in your life’s direction and that direction seems different or unusual when compared to what some of your friends plan to do. –

Here's my dream -
I had a dream two weeks ago that my best friend was digging my grave in a Catholic Church yard. I am not religious. In this dream, our other friends couldn't understand why I didn't have a shadow and I became very upset with them because they had no respect for me as a dead person. Last night I had a dream that I was at a store with my brothers. They let me pick out whatever I wanted but when we left the store and got into the truck, I asked them where my things had gone. The replied to me that dead people can't actually take things out of the store. What could these dreams about my own death possibly mean?
Dear Dreamer, Oftentimes, dreams of death are suggestive of the end of something. These dreams can occur whenever an individual is at some kind of transitional period in his or her life. The dream about the graveyard in the Catholic Church suggests that you have “buried” or put to rest the beliefs and ideas (or even the support system) that may have been a part of your upbringing or childhood. The act of not having a shadow could be suggestive of not having a sense of self or not knowing one’s direction in life. Conversely, another interpretation regarding not having a shadow could be that you have turned lose of the depression (e.g. the shadow) that was once falling you. The fact that your brothers told you that dead people couldn’t take things with them suggests that whatever period of transition you are in (e.g. changing jobs, divorce, etc.) may not be fully understood by those closest to you – and perhaps it may not be fully understood by yourself. If this is the case, you may be having a challenging time deciding what it is you want to do with you life right now. If so, let me recommend the book, Discovering Your Soul’s Purpose, by Mark Thurston. I hope this helps. –

Here's my dream -
The other night I dreamt I was seeing a psychiatrist. I am not in real life but I have friends and relatives who I know would feel more reassured if I was. I often have very disturbing thoughts and I am prone to bouts of depression/anger. I’m short-tempered, impatient and have sudden desires to hurt people. Could the dream mean I’m doubting my own sanity?
Dear Dreamer, The dream seems to be suggesting that your subconscious mind is encouraging you to follow-through on the advice of your friends and family. In all probability, a good psychiatrist could help you with your disturbing thoughts, your depression and your anger. Countless thousands of individuals have been helped by therapy. Please consider giving a therapist a call. He or she might be extremely helpful for you at this time – and it seems like your dream is encouraging you to follow-through. Interestingly enough, Edgar Cayce stated that nothing of significance ever happens to us without it first being foreshadowed in dreams. Good luck to you. –

Here's my dream -
Last month I had this very beautiful dream that I was actually in another country to be specific the place is in London. It was so real. We were even taking pictures and one more thing I was with a stranger – a black woman who I don’t know. Does this mean I will have a chance to go and see Europe in real-life because I already had the experience of dreams in which I was traveling and it actually happened in real life? Another dream that’s been recurring in my sleep is an old classmate in college. He is a guy I don’t have any crush on or have anything to do with. I’m puzzled why he appears in my dreams? I hope you can help me!
Dear Dreamer, Dreams about places often correspond to whatever we most associate with that place; they can also be associated with travel or even a past-life experience. The color black can be associated with the unknown or the mysterious, suggesting that you may be entering a new period of your life that is either associated with what you like best about traveling or somehow enables you to tap into your talents and abilities from the past. People in dreams often correspond to whatever we most associate with that individual. Since the guy reminds you of school, the dream may be suggesting that you are about to enter into a phase of your life that will give you the opportunity to fulfill whatever hopes and dreams you contemplated while you were in school. –

Here's my dream -
I have a recurring dream that I am in this place where there is an open beach and a pool. Every time I try to go to the pool it is so full of people that I am unable to get in it. Then I'm always looking for something in buildings or very dark dangerous streets. I can never find what I'm looking for; I don't know in my dream what I am looking for. The part of the pool and the beach does not seem to affect me in my dream, however the part of being in that bad neighborhood, and trying to find something is very disturbing, and scary. When I look for whatever it is, I either do it in a car, or walking. Please try to get to my dream, because it is quite frequent and disturbing. Thank you so much.
Dear Dreamer, The theme of these dreams is simply, “Someone is looking for something but is unable to find it.” With this in mind, try to apply this theme to your life in general and you will know what the dream is referring to. There are many possibilities here. The pool and ocean full of people could suggest that it is associated with your spiritual beliefs and/or church life. The dark and dangerous streets might indicate that it has something to do with your life’s path and your own fears associated with your talents and abilities. Overall, these dreams are simply indicating that you are looking for something but don’t know how to find it. If this is the case, and that something is associated with your life’s path, let me recommend: Discovering Your Soul’s Purpose, by Mark Thurston. If, on the other hand, that something is about your spiritual beliefs, let me recommend: Soul Development: Edgar Cayce’s Approach for a New World, by Kevin Todeschi. I hope that helps. –

Here's my dream -
I often dream about a large house or mansion. It is my home and it has many, many rooms and as I go through the rooms I find that it has even more rooms than I originally thought. Although I am a little afraid of what I might find in the next room I am very excited about continuing my searching. Sometimes the house has a lot of staircases and I am climbing up and down. Usually I am with other people but they don't play a major role in the dream, mainly they just follow me around.
Dear Dreamer, Oftentimes, the activity of exploring a large house or a mansion in a dream corresponds with the activity of delving into unexplored parts of one’s consciousness, talents or abilities. Dreams of this nature often occur whenever the dreamer is being called upon to do something new in life, simply thinking about doing something new, or having to face new experiences or activities in the normal course of life’s events. Essentially, the dream is suggesting that there is more to your personality and your talents and abilities then you may have been previously aware of. –

I am always dreaming I am in a huge mall but since I can't go shopping and have no money to shop I know the mall has another meaning, but what? The last time I dreamed I had a new apartment and living in the mall. I even had a new job at a department store and it was Christmastime.
Dear Dreamer, A mall can be suggestive of an individual’s current experience, current choices, available decisions and opportunities for direction. In other words, a mall is generally filled with all kinds of activities and choices that an individual can make – just as life is filled with the very same thing. Therefore, when you dream about a mall it can often reflect the nearly limitless choices that stand before you in waking life regarding some direction or personal future. One possibility suggested by the new apartment, the new job and it being Christmastime in the mall might indicate some kind of a positive life change or work direction becoming known to you around the Holidays. Good luck! –

I dreamed I was with my friend in India. I was looking up a green hill and saw two paths: one leading up the hill to the top and a tree line, the other led part way up the hill and had more of a dirt road path (this one I took) leading up to a sort of hallway in the side of the hill. I went in, it didn't go to far, and at the end was a door on my left and a very flat surface wall of dirt in front of me. The door opened and a lady let some children out to go to school and I went back out and back down the hill. I remember thinking earlier in the dream before I took my walk that "this is India...how beautiful. I love it here." Then, as I reached my point of origin my friend was their and I put my head on his left shoulder and felt happy, safe and at home. (I have never been to India or any other country except Canada.)
Dear Dreamer, Places in a dream generally represent whatever we associate with that place or they can be indicative of a past-life experience (or both). Oftentimes, India can represent such things as spirituality, travel, a foreign idea, ancient mysteries, and so forth. In addition, when we dream about a past-life locale, it is generally because a similar pattern or experience is occurring to us in the present. With this in mind, the dream seems to indicate some kind of a crossroads in life: one which appeared more established and perhaps even more financially lucrative and another that was more of an unknown and perhaps even a little uncertain. For whatever reason, the dream suggests that you chose the path that was less certain. The path you have chosen seems to be filled with various educational experiences that are new to you (children) and yet it is something that you are really happy to be experiencing. The dream might also indicate becoming more involved in some kind of a personal spiritual path that is also educationally rewarding. –

I'm sitting by the seashore in my favorite place where I usually retire to meditate when the man I'm dating for approximately a month, walks out of the ocean towards me. I'm surprise but happy to see him. Then we start walking on the beach holding hands then we cross a door that takes us to this beautiful room full of white light. We're both surprise and in awe of the warmth and beauty, then the light starts filtering through our hands and filling both of us with it until we're both covered and surrounded by it. We are both in absolute joy.
Dear Dreamer, The dream could be suggesting that your relationship with this individual is going to lead to an enhanced spiritual search for you (and perhaps your boyfriend as well). Your journey together (e.g. walking on the beach) may lead to a new direction or opportunity (e.g. crossing the door) of renewed spiritual fulfillment and awareness (the white light). –

I dreamed I was in the streets of Jerusalem and I went forward to get my inheritance of 20 to 30 silver coins. I immediately took them and gave two to my daughter and one to everyone else even one to a person who had stolen money from me. I had none left. I then went forward knowing I had done the right thing. The coins were like prayers. I then got hundreds of thousands of gold necklaces and people came to me to get one and each one held a gift for them and they were happy and ready to help others. Thanks for your input on this dream.
Dear Dreamer, Although the imagery suggests that this might be tapping into some aspects of a past-life memory, I think there are reasons why you are having this dream at this particular time. Jerusalem can be symbolic of a spiritual search or journey. Biblically, coins can be symbolic of betrayal (e.g. both Joseph of the Old Testament and Jesus in the new were betrayed in exchange for coins). From this perspective the dream might indicate your act of reaching out to others who have somehow hurt you. On the other hand, the coins might simply represent something of personal value. Giving away everything you have is certainly associated with the act of selfless service. If you have an active prayer life, the dream is also showing you how much value has been in the prayers you have been sending out to others. Giving away the necklaces can either be associated with placing your will subservient to the will of others, or it can correspond to somehow helping others find value in their will and personal opinions. Overall, it seems to be a very positive dream about your own spiritual depth. –
