This eGroup will help you to explore your vocation as defined by your job or career, as well as your role in society and in your community. You will examine the portions of your horoscope that reflect the "tendencies and inclinations" influencing your vocational choices, your working environments, and your resources this lifetime.

• Your creative potential and possible avenues for its development through your vocation or involvement in your community at large.
• Your skills, aptitudes and personality traits that are best expressed in your vocation or your role in the community.
• The ways in which you experience and respond to authority figures in your life, as well as your ability and willingness to take on authority positions in your vocation and in your community.
• The characteristics of your approach to the routine responsibilities and obligations of your everyday life, including the routines of your job.
• The type of daily working environment you want and need in order to feel comfortable and productive.
• The resources (spiritual, emotional, mental, physical), you have available for use in your vocation and in fulfilling your role in your community.
• Your values and how they impact your use of resources.
• Your abilities, as well as some possible avenues, for expanding and developing your resources.

Week One:
The Sun is the star in our solar system. In your horoscope the Sun indicates where you should shine. In week one you will explore the placement of your Sun in your horoscope and the associated possibilities and career paths for "shining" in a job, vocation or in your role in your community.

Week Two:
In week two you will identify your talents and special abilities as shown by your horoscope that can be used in your vocation or role in society. You will examine your approach to authority and the career possibilities associated with this area of your horoscope.

Week Three:
You will discover the types and characteristics of the working environments that your horoscope indicates you need in order to be comfortable and productive on the job or in your chosen role in life.

Week Four:
You will examine the area of resources in your horoscope. This will help you identify the types of resources you have to use in your vocational endeavors, as well as the types of jobs or roles that may increase the resources available to you.

• All the information you will need in written and/or audio formats.
• Questionnaires and inventories to complete, along with some experiential exercises to enable you to understand your unique astrological symbols in a more creative and non-verbal way.

• Read and/or listen to the information and explanations and work through the exercises provided.
• Respond with your reactions, feelings, and questions on the community bulletin board. Directions for doing this will be sent to you.
• Receive responses to your postings by Raye Mathis.

Mentor Bio:

Raye Mathis is a member of the faculty at Atlantic University where, among the courses she mentors, is her Transformational Astrology course. Her column, The Astrologer's Corner, appears in the A.R.E.'s Venture Inward magazine. Raye is an experienced teacher, workshop presenter and has over 35 years as a conference speaker. She is a former member of the A.R.E. and the AU Boards of Trustees. She has maintained an on-going astrological counseling practice for almost 40 years. Raye has a B.A. degree in mathematics, a Master's degree in clinical social work and has completed post-graduate work at the C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. She studied astrology with Gret Baumann-Jung, Carl Jung's daughter and with Zipporah Dobyns, PhD.

What's an e-Group?

Your A.R.E. eGroup will meet on an Internet discussion board. This discussion board has been created especially for A.R.E. by BulletinBoards.com, a secure Internet site that makes learning online interactive and easy. In Internet terms, your eGroup is called a "discussion board", a virtual meeting room where you will join with other like-minded people and your mentor, Raye Mathis, in an interactive discussion on Vocational Astrology.

In the virtual meeting room, you will have access to the written and audio materials prepared for you by Raye. Every Wednesday, she will post a lesson along with exercises for you to practice during the week. Posting is very similar to sending an e-mail, except that all the e-mails are viewed within your virtual meeting room. You may post your thoughts, questions, and experiences on the site for Raye and the other participants to read and respond to. In this way, everyone will benefit from one another's experiences and insights and the coaching offered by Raye to individuals.

Once you register for your A.R.E. eGroup, we will send you an e-mail from eGroups@edgarcayce.org detailing how to access and navigate our discussion board for the eGroup Discover Your Vocational Talents Using Astrology as Your Guide. Then, you're in! You will be able to visit your eGroup any time you desire. The meeting room is accessible 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week and you may participate at your convenience from anywhere in the world. There are no specified times that you have to be in the room. You decide when and how often you wish to participate.
