Sun Spots, the Power of the Mind,
and the Cayce Readings
By Don Carroll
An Edgar Cayce reading tells us that humankind’s state of consciousness on Earth can influence sun spot activity. Below are excerpts from this reading (5757-1).
"…do ye wonder then that there become reflected upon even the face of the sun those turmoils and strifes that have been and that are the sin of man?"
"…Much as that confusion which is caused upon the earth by that which appears as a sun spot. The disruption of communications of all natures between men is what? Remember the story, the allegory if ye choose to call it such, of the tower of Babel."
"…as ye do it unto the least, ye do it unto thy Maker—even as to the sun which reflects those turmoils that arise with thee…"
The Cayce readings remain on track. Last May, NASA began to publicly report on a huge solar storm event called a coronal mass ejection (CME); and the general media has picked up on it. That event occurred on July 23, 2012,when a massive electromagnetic storm shot through Earth’s orbital path, just missing giving Earth a broadside that scientists state would have set civilization back centuries! The potential damage to the U.S. alone was estimated at over 2 trillion dollars. NASA’s article also states that there is a 12 percent chance of such an event actually occurring in the next 10 years.
Coronal Mass Ejection
“July 23, 2014: If an asteroid big enough to knock modern civilization back to the 18th century appeared out of deep space and buzzed the Earth-Moon system, the near-miss would be instant worldwide headline news.
“Two years ago, Earth experienced a close shave just as perilous, but most newspapers didn’t mention it… According to a study by the National Academy of Sciences, the total economic impact could exceed $2 trillion or 20 times greater than the costs of a Hurricane Katrina. Multi-ton transformers damaged by such a storm might take years to repair. … If Riley’s work holds true, there is a 12% chance we will learn a lot more about extreme solar storms in the next 10 years—when one actually strikes Earth.”
Another science article documents that the earth’s magnetic field is rapidly weakening. It is this magnetic field that gives us some protection from such solar events as discussed here. If these events happened concurrently, the results would have even a greater impact than already predicted.
"Previously, researchers estimated the field was weakening about 5 percent per century, but the new data revealed the field is actually weakening at 5 percent per decade, or 10 times faster than thought… Researchers think power grids and communication systems would be most at risk.
"Earth's magnetic field acts like a giant invisible bubble that shields the planet from the dangerous cosmic radiation spewing from the sun in the form of solar winds."
As noted in the aforementioned Cayce reading, we almost experienced a modern tower of Babel event. Curiously such an event that would knock civilization back to primitive technologies is theorized by Dr. Robert Schoch in his book, Forgotten Civilization, as having occurred 12,000 years ago to ancient advanced civilizations. This recent “near miss” also seems to harken to some of the apocalyptic predictions of the Mayan prophesied date of 12/21/12.
Fear not! Though this may seem to be a report of doom and gloom and dire circumstances, it is actually one of good news. It was a near miss; we did in fact dodge the “bullet.” And why is that? Again the Cayce readings can give illumination.
“Know that thy mind—thy mind—is the builder! As what does thy soul appear? A spot, a blot upon the sun? or as that which giveth light unto those who sit in darkness, to those who cry aloud for hope?” (Edgar Cayce reading 5757-1)
It would appear that the consciousness of a number of humans was elevated and enlightened enough to fend off the darkness of others in turmoil and confusion, thus avoiding this cataclysmic event as the readings say can be done.
"As has been given, however, that which has prevented and does prevent the whole of civilization becoming a turmoil is the attempt of those who have the ideals of the Prince of Peace at HEART! And as of old, the prayers of ten may save a city; the prayers of twenty-five may save a nation - as the prayers and activities of ONE may! but in union there is strength. Then if that purpose would be kept, then it must ever be kept in mind that we ARE our brother's keeper!" (Edgar Cayce reading 1598-2)
There is even documented evidence that this may well be the case. Dr. Steven Pinker, an evolutionary psychologist, believes that we are in the most peaceful time ever in human civilization. Despite the constant media bombardment of wars and violence, Dr. Pinker traces all such events and more throughout civilization and has come to the conclusion that we are in the most peaceful of times. Pinker.wjh.harvard.edu/articles/media/2007_03_19_New%20Republic.pdf.
Perhaps this is the reason that all these predictions and events have not culminated in disaster. This is a call to keep the faith in our higher selves and not allow external events and media to cause us to falter in our belief of the greater good. Each one of us is integral in creating this higher consciousness and in shedding light for each other rather than shedding blood. Each and every one of us is vital to this. As so well illustrated in the proverb ‘For Want of a Nail’:
For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
As the readings have noted; the kingdom is within. With each one of us going within to our higher self, we keep the kingdom intact for us all.

Noah the Movie – A Missed Opportunity, part two
By Kevin J. Todeschi
Read Part 1 | Part 2
Perhaps more than any other Old Testament tale, it is the story of Noah and the Flood with which individuals of all ages and religious backgrounds are most familiar. In Christian, Jewish, and Islamic literature, the story of the Deluge plays an important role. There are actually more than 200 “Great Flood” traditions scattered throughout the world. With this in mind, coupled with the fact that I have been a Noah’s Ark enthusiast for more than 30 years, I have to admit to disappointment in the movie Noah for missing numerous details of this archetypal tale and failing to bring to public awareness the fact that this story has relevance for all humankind.
"The Deluge", by John Martin, 1834.
In the Christian world, the story of Noah has played an important role for 2,000 years. Between the Middle Ages and the 19th century, the fact that fossilized bones of sea creatures could be found on mountain ranges throughout the world was generally believed to be proof that a great flood had occurred. In Christian medieval towns, while biblical mystery-morality plays were making the circuit, the story of Noah and his family was a frequent favorite. Even with the discovery of plate tectonics in the 1800s, and the knowledge that ice sheets had once covered much of the Northern Hemisphere—challenging the medieval belief that “fish bones on mountaintops equals world-wide deluge”—the belief in Noah’s flood was never doubted by those faithful to scripture.
Further confirmation of the existence of the ark even after the 19th century came in the form of eyewitness accounts of the craft upon Mount Ararat in Turkey, near the borders of Armenia and Iran, by many reputable investigators, scholars, military professionals, and theologians. In fact, there have been more recorded sightings of Noah’s Ark since 1840 than during any other period of recorded history! Historical references to the discovery of the ark are traceable at least as far back as the third century BCE.

Over the years, what has fascinated me the most about this story is the fact that it can be explored from various unrelated perspectives—a process that will lead to the discovery that a number of source materials describe complementary aspects of Noah’s tale and expand it. For example, because of the information contained in Genesis 2:5-6, some Christians believe that rain was absent from pre-deluge earth and that the planet received moisture from a water vapor canopy that engulfed it: “…for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth…But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.” This same premise was also advanced by Austrian-born philosopher, educator and clairvoyant, Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), the founder of the Anthroposophical Society. In describing the pre-deluge earth, Steiner stated:
…at that time the air was saturated with water mist vapors. Man lived in the water mist, which in certain regions never lifted to the point where the air was completely clear. Sun and moon could not be seen as they are today, but were surrounded by colored coronas. A distribution of rain and sunshine, such as occurs at present, did not exist at that time… (Steiner, “Cosmic Memory”)
Some individuals contend that it was the disappearance of the water vapor canopy and the resulting influx of solar radiation that was responsible for the tremendous decrease in humankind’s longevity—from almost 1,000 years to the present lifespan of 7-10 decades. Scripture further supports this premise in that, immediately after the flood, lifespans begin to decrease with each subsequent generation.
According to the Old Testament, the ark’s incredible dimensions measured 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. Historically, a cubit is thought to be the length of a man’s forearm, or somewhere between 18 and 22 inches. It is interesting to note that the ark’s dimensions of 6-to-1 (length-to-width) were considered so seaworthy that Marine architect George W. Dickie purposefully used the same ratio when constructing the U.S.S. Oregon, which was launched in 1898, and was considered the flagship of the American fleet and one of the most stable vessels ever constructed.

The Edgar Cayce readings add more information to the story of the flood. First of all, Noah and his family were not the only individuals saved from the destruction. The eight souls were saved to preserve the consciousness that had been brought into the earth through Adam and the followers of the Law of One, and to continue the spiritual and mental evolution of mankind. However, all over the earth other individuals found safety in crafts of their own making—lending credence to the fact that flood traditions exist worldwide. In fact, the readings suggest that the flood occurred during the second destruction of Atlantis, causing migrations of individuals from Atlantis to other parts of the world.
From the readings standpoint, God did not send the deluge; instead, God intervened to prevent mankind from completely destroying itself. (Interestingly enough, Jewish historian Josephus was also convinced that God did not send the flood and believed that the flood was brought about by humankind.) Apparently, some of the Atlanteans had gotten hold of the energy crystal that supplied power to the continent, misused the energy source, and caused an explosion that tore the continent apart—condensing the water vapor mist that completely surrounded the earth (much like the planet of Venus is surrounded by a cloud canopy).
From a psychological perspective, the Great Flood Myth symbolizes the pattern of being overwhelmed by personal transformation and change and yet somehow becoming a more enlightened individual because of that experience. What is fascinating about the archetypal significance of this tale is that in the last decade of the 20th century, the story of Noah experienced a tremendous rise in popularity. Almost overnight the market seemed flooded with numerous children’s toys, night lights, magnets, collector’s plates, ornaments, clothing, figurines and even several movies about Noah’s Ark. The archetypal reason was not because for some inexplicable reason this man and his family suddenly fascinated society. Instead, because so many individuals now feel in the midst of personal transformation and change this archetype has resurfaced. People feel motivated to put a Noah’s magnet on their fridge because subconsciously it resonates to something they are experiencing deep within themselves.

Jungian psychologist Eleanor Bertine (ca 1944) found much archetypal significance in the flood story and suggested that the flood epic itself was far older than either the biblical or Gilgamesh accounts. Like many researchers, she pointed to a Sumerian version and its Ziusudra Noah that is traceable to at least the third millennium BCE. The biblical and Gilgamesh tales agree with all essential details of the Sumerian version. Bertine was convinced that both the Gilgamesh and the biblical accounts were traceable to the Sumerian version; however, she was also certain that the Sumerian version had been based on something even earlier: “dating back so far that the bottom falls out of time…” (Rohrbach, Pg. 197) Back so far that it corresponds with Cayce’s timing of Atlantis?
In the end, what may be most inspiring for me about the tale is the fact that there is an ancient Armenian legend which states that a gopher-wood craft, enormous in proportions, rests high upon the mountains just waiting until the moment is right for its discovery. According to the tale, God in His omnipotent wisdom, hid the craft, for He knew a time would come in the history of humankind when all the peoples of the world would need the chance to believe.

Earth Changes Update
By Laura Jackson
In the last two weeks of February, 2013, we have witnessed profound changes to the earth. There have been a record number (and magnitude) of earthquakes along the Ring of Fire, which encompasses the Santa Cruz Islands, Sumatra, Indonesia, Kermadec Islands, Japan, Chile, and Colombia. Tsunamis from the Santa Cruz earthquakes have washed away villages. The number lost? Unknown.
Mt. Etna -Wikimedia Commons.
We have seen increased activity at Mt. Etna, already an active volcano but cited in Cayce’s readings as a precursor to coming earth changes activity. There has been significant solar activity. A meteorite exploded over central Russia injuring an estimated 1,200 people. A Pope has "stepped down" from the Vatican for the first time in 600 years. And following the Pope’s announcement, lightning hits the top of the Vatican building. Coincidence? And not the least of which, North Korea detonated a nuclear device underground. Compounding North Korea's detonation is the close proximity to where four tectonic plates converge along the Ring of Fire.

Some might ask, how are these vastly different events connected?
Where should I begin? Let me start by connecting the dots. As we interweave the prophecy of Edgar Cayce's readings, modern science, and quantum physics, we find a deeper, more connected understanding. It enables us to embrace this extraordinary time in which we live, putting pieces into perspective, including seemingly unrelated ones. Metaphysics is the lens through which we find greater understanding.
We have already entered the New Age. While it's not readily visible, it's more about how we choose to operate, interact, and move through these times. The old ways no longer work. It's apparent when we look around—evidenced in our banking system, our economic system, corporate dealings, our relationships, and in our physical and energetic bodies.
To better understand these seemingly disconnected events, I would like to share two insights. First, what we are witnessing is an outward manifestation of changes that we, and the earth, are undergoing. As divine co-creators, we know our inner workings can manifest in the outer world—the good, the bad, and the not-so-pretty.
A second insight is that unless things—meaning people and businesses—transform, they cannot operate within the New Age. This New Age is an extraordinary time; an elevated level of consciousness with a feeling and knowing of the interconnectedness of all things. In the physical, it’s operating in a whole new way, where all of us are honored and all are equal. There is no hierarchy, there is only collaboration. There is no competition, there is only co-creation and cooperation. “All are equal—not only under the material law but under the spiritual.” (Edgar Cayce reading 3976-18)
Katie Walking Labyrinth
We sit, straddling two worlds, knowing we are to choose to act and operate as if we are in the new. What we see however, is distortion rising to the surface, because it can no longer be hidden. Lack of integrity can no longer hide behind a mask. “Then if those in position to give of their means, their wealth, their education, their position, do not take these things into consideration, there must be that leveling that will come.” (Edgar Cayce reading 3976-19) We have a new operating system for the New Age, and when we use it, everyone wins!
So how do we move through our lives with more ease and grace during turbulent times? By using the tools we know about: exercising discernment, holding center, and practicing meditation. Now it’s about using them on a daily basis. “Take time first to be holy. Don’t let a day go by without meditation and prayer for some definite purpose, and not for self, but that self may be the channel of help to someone else. For in helping others is the greater way to help self.” (Edgar Cayce reading 3624-1)
And most importantly, it’s about taking responsibility for our individual thoughts and actions. Through the understanding of our interconnectedness comes the realization of our thought forms manifesting in our outer world. Yet we have the power to choose inner peace, to choose the divine flow, and transcend seeming chaos in the outer world. Have faith and know all is in divine order, in what Cayce calls the “Age of the Lily.”

You Are a Creator
By Judy Lickert
Now is the time to exercise your power as a creator. Consciously. We constantly create. The world around us is the result of our thoughts. This is found in numerous Cayce readings—thoughts are things, mind is the builder, etc. Unfortunately, we have not accepted the deep nature of this truth nor have we accepted the responsibility of this aspect of our being. We have limited our vision to material creation. Now is the time to go up to the causal level.
What do you see in the world today? War, poverty, fear, political division, extinction of animals, natural disasters. This can be overwhelming to the material mind, but not to the spiritual. Each one of us, using our spiritual power given to us by The Creator, can make a great change in the collective consciousness that creates the material world. Yes, even in mitigating natural disasters, for Mother Earth responds to attitudes held in the mass consciousness, and for a long time now she has been under attack. She is beginning to defend herself.
Cayce warned in his readings on Atlantis that if our attitudes were not spiritualized, our technological society would find the same ending as Atlantis, i.e., destruction—a destruction that we will have created. His readings on earth changes told us what may occur if we did not change the vibrations we were building in the ethers. Sadly, we are seeing many of these, but the severity of the disasters may have been somewhat mitigated by the work individuals and small groups have been doing to raise consciousness.
Today we hear the cries for help from many directions. After Hurricane Sandy's visit to the American East Coast it is obvious many thousands of people need our help. There are children starving throughout the world, much of the world lacks clean water, animals are being hunted to extinction or their habitats are being destroyed; this list could go on and on, but you have the power to change it.
Little me? Yes! First of all, you are not little. We were created in the image of The Creator. That is NOT little. Second, instead of working at the material level, rise to the causal level where your work will more quickly and effectively bring about change. Don't ignore the cries of the material level, but focus on the causal, since fewer will be able to recognize the importance of that type of work.
What do you do? Live what you believe. All day, every day, bring your every thought and action into accord with the highest consciousness you know. For example, while driving, let go of individual desire; drive with your actions and responses being determined by the greatest good for all. Break that initial annoyance with the vision of safe journeying for all. This isn't being a goody two-shoes! This is how you create peace and brotherhood! You send out a higher vibration. This is where you LIVE "thoughts are things," not just mouth it. If you don't believe this could make a difference, try feeling that the guy who is tailgating you is a spiritual brother and send a heartfelt prayer for his safety and yours. Show respect that he might have an acceptable reason for his actions and ask that he respect your reason for your actions. Your response must be honest. Then watch what happens.
In all aspects of your life consciously choose to align with the higher vibration. Observe your thoughts, and feed them with only that which leads you to positive growth. Skip forwarding that email that is based on belittlement, fear, or outrage. Avoid any media that feeds the fear within you. Take responsibility for creating the life around you. If you created it, you can change it. You are that powerful.
You are also so very, very important at this time, because you have opened yourself to these truths and are allowing them to blossom in your life. Every consciousness that is opening to a higher vibration is helping to lift others with it.
The greatest need in this world at this moment is the lifting up of the mass consciousness; through this, permanent solutions to the distressing situations in our world will be found. Nurture your own expanding consciousness, encourage others by your words, suggestions of a book, movie, or program.
