Edgar Evans Cayce (1918-2013)
By Kevin J. Todeschi
Edgar Evans Cayce, the youngest son of Edgar and Gertrude Cayce, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2013.
Described as a renaissance man by those who knew him best, he excelled in both academics and sports. He was the Valedictorian of Oceana High School in 1935, and captain of the school’s football team. During World War II, he served his country as a captain in the Army Signal Corps.

His earliest recollection of being helped by his psychic father was a physical reading given when he was seven. He was standing near a fireplace when a spark from the fire ignited the leg of his pajamas. The pajamas burst into flame but were quickly extinguished by his mother, who smothered the flames with a shirt. The accident caused serious burns from his ankle to his back. A remedy described in a psychic reading given by his father successfully treated the injury.
On another occasion, when Edgar Evans was in high school, he asked his father for information that would help him choose a career. The reading given recommended the field of engineering and said that he could get a scholarship from Duke University. He followed that advice, got a scholarship from Duke, and became an electrical engineer. He was a member of the electrical engineering honor society Eta Kappa Nu and had a 40-year career with Virginia Power.
Edgar Evans was an expert resource on Atlantis and authored Edgar Cayce on Atlantis and co-authored Mysteries of Atlantis along with two other books For many decades he was also a dedicated member of the Board of Trustees of the A.R.E., the organization founded by his father in 1931.
He was frequently asked to describe what it was like having a psychic for a father, to which his reply was that he didn’t feel it was all that different from having any other father. He described Edgar Cayce as being a loving husband and father, a great gardener, a very good carpenter, an enthusiastic fisherman, and someone who could talk to anybody.
Extremely fit and in excellent health well past his 90th birthday, Edgar Evans attributed his wellbeing to a healthy diet and exercise. Even while in his early 90s, he mowed his own yard and played volleyball three times a week.
Edgar Evans Cayce was predeceased by his wife (and high school sweetheart) of 69 years, Kat Cayce. He is survived by his two children, E. Evans Cayce (along with his wife, Valerie) and Gail C. Schwartzer (along with her husband, Joe), three grandsons, and four great-grandchildren. His family described him as a “direct, no-nonsense, engaged, multi-dimensional man who has always been about love, understanding, and acceptance.”

The following excerpt from his high school address of 1935 epitomizes his life:
“Our real place in life can never be measured by external signs. It will depend upon how close has been our personal relation with our God; how much we give to others; and how much peace there is within as a result of knowing ourselves.”

Pope’s Resignation and the Papal Prophecies
By John Van Auken
Perhaps one of the best measurements of the progression of prophecies for our times is the succession of popes. Three different prophets are said to have given clear and measurable information about the predicted line of popes: Malachy, the Monk of Padua, and Nostradamus. With the announced retirement of Pope Benedict XVI, it is a great time to review these predictions.
St. Malachy ~ Wikipedia
In 1138, an Irish bishop named Malachy visited the Vatican where he fell into a deep trance during which he saw the reigning pontiff and the line of succession of 112 popes, followed by the final fall of the Church of Rome as we have known it. When he awoke, he wrote a complete manuscript on the vision, giving each pope a Latin motto. The manuscript was sent to the Vatican after Malachy's passing, where it was stored in secret archives until 1590, long after Nostradamus's death (1503-1566). Later, around 1730-40, a monk called “The Monk of Padua” wrote a manuscript listing a sequence of popes and the ultimate end of the papacy, which closely followed and used Malachy's mottos for the popes.
Of the 20th-century popes, Malachy called Pope Pius XII (1939-58) Pastor Angelicus, referring to his angelic shepherding of the church, which many inside and outside the church acknowledged. He was followed by Pope John XXIII (1958-63), whom Malachy called Pastor et Nauta, shepherd and navigator, perhaps referring to his position as Archbishop of Venice or his reconvening of the Ecumenical Council which used the symbols of a cross and a ship. After him came Flos Florum, Flower of Flowers, Pope Paul VI (1963-78) whose coat of arms contained a floral design.
After him came De Mediatate Lunae, the middle or half of the moon, Pope John Paul I (August 26 to September 28, 1978) who openly supported women’s rights and agreed to discuss artificial birth control. This is one of the shortest and most suspicious papal reigns in history as he was only 66 years old and in good health when he suddenly died. His body was cremated, against strict Catholic custom at that time.
Pope John Paul II, De Labore Solis, the labor of the sun, (1978-2005), was from Poland. J.H. Brennan, author of some of the best books on Nostradamus, points out that the part of Poland from which John Paul II came was originally a portion of ancient France, and therefore the following quatrain may refer to him:
Not from Spain, but from ancient France
He will be elected from the trembling ship
To the enemy he will make assurance
Who in his reign will be a cruel blight. 5:49
Brennan considers the trembling ship to be the church itself. The great enemy of Polish John Paul II would have been none other than the Soviet Union, and he made assurances to the Soviets concerning the workers strikes in Poland.
Malachy and the Priest of Padua predict only two more popes: Gloria Olivae (glory of the olive) and Petrus Romanus (Peter of Rome). Malachy’s descriptive phrase given to the 111th Pope, Gloria Olivae, the glory of the olive, does fit the current Pope Benedict XVI (2005-2013) who took the name Benedict from The Order of Saint Benedict, which is also known as the Olivetans from Jesus’ time on the Mount of Olives.
Coat of arms of the Vatican City.
The final petrus romanus, Peter the Roman, could be the return of St. Peter as the first and the last to rule the church (according to Roman theology—others and the Cayce readings say that James was the first leader). Bishop Malachy’s vision concludes with the end of the church:
"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End."
This Malachy prediction that the Vatican will be destroyed correlates with The Priest of Padua’s prediction that the holy center will be burned when the last pope sits on the throne. And then we have this from Nostradamus:
The great star for seven days will burn
A cloud will make two suns appear
The big mastiff will howl all night
When a great Pope changes his territory. 2:41
We shall see how all of this plays out on the stage of life. Some visionaries have seen the church continuing in a more enlightened form and even including women. The prophetic Mayan date of December 21, 2012, is now in the past. We are approaching the year 2038, which ends the timeline prophecy inside the Great Pyramid in Egypt. These years may be the culmination of a long cycle which results in much change in the world and the beginning of a long-sought new era.
MSNBC.com’s Nightly News website has reported that the same day Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation, lightning struck St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, the Catholic Church's center in Rome.

Cayce Hemorrhoid Remedy
Taps Unexpected Source
By Todd Burgin
Hemorrhoid inflammation is a condition that up to 50 percent of people will experience in their lifetime. Mild cases are often resolved through a combination of increased fiber and fluid intake, rest, and over-the-counter medication to manage symptoms, while severe cases may be treated through surgery. Edgar Cayce, often referred to as the “father of holistic medicine,” outlined a variety of treatments for this condition, including massage and manipulation, enemas (with specific mixtures), and an ointment (originally known as Tim, and now available as Tibbex*).
Hemorrhoids were, according to the readings given on this condition, a symptom of problems in the body’s eliminations, which would then cause inflammation, pain, and sometimes bleeding. “Again we find the effects of these conditions in the eliminations through the alimentary canal, and in the effect produced in the sphincter muscular forces we find the folds in that portion of the system becoming irritated in the form of hemorrhoids that give the distress at times… And we would make local applications…for those conditions in the portions of the system affected by the hemorrhoids. Using the combination of properties found in Tim will bring bettered conditions.” (678-2)
In reading 294-24, Cayce gave the formula for the hemorrhoid ointment that became known as “Tim.” This reading, which was volunteered and not given in response to a suggestion, states that the formula should be used for treatment of inflammation in and around the rectum. “This to be used as salve or lotion for such conditions or abrasions, internal or external. Apply that to the body. We will bring better relief and relations to the whole physical body, with the action of the physical when in the subconscious or subnormal conditions.”
Massage and manipulation, along with dietary changes, were often recommended to treat the root cause of the problem. Enemas (or colonics) were suggested to cleanse the colon and create an environment more conducive to healing. And finally, the topical ointment, Tim, was suggested to bring immediate relief of the symptoms as well as promoting healing in the affected tissues. “For the condition as gives trouble in the rectum at the present time, we would use a solution or a salve of this character…” (953-9) Tim was even suggested for use after a medical procedure, “we find that AFTER such treatments by the proctologist, it would be well to use such an ointment as Tim for the CORRECTING of the conditions as related to the circulation in those areas.” (1540-1)
In a later reading, Cayce described a “better formula” to replace Tim. With these improvements he said the new formula “does relieve, and with the proper precautions in diet and in exercise will remove hemorrhoids and piles, and do good for old sores also—as leg sores… The directions would be to apply as an ointment to affected portions once or twice each day. Rest as much as possible after application, with the feet elevated above the head. It'll cure it!” (Edgar Cayce Reading 1800-20)

Interestingly, tobacco is one of the key ingredients of this formula. Though it is primarily associated with poor health today, and Cayce did frequently warn of the negative health effects that tobacco use and addiction cause, tobacco also has a healing history, as evidenced by its inclusion in this remedy. According to cultural literature, the Mayans used tobacco for asthma, insect bites, bowel complaints, fever, skin diseases, and urinary ailments. Native American tribes in New England would wash burns with a form of boiled tobacco, and to this day it remains a folk remedy for certain injuries and disorders.
According to Cayce, nicotine (which is present in every part of the tobacco plant and one of the most highly addictive compounds known) has an important quality of drawing out toxins (though it should not be used when the body is already eliminating toxins). “…for being over sensitive [he had been smoking too much], naturally the nicotine from the tobacco brings those poisons in system that must be eliminated, and when the body is overclogged (as such condition exists at present), this merely adds to that condition wherein distresses are produced.” (294-96) Modern studies have also indicated that tobacco contains anti-inflammatory properties.
Benzoin, another component of the “better formula” now known as Tibbex*, is a resin used as an antiseptic treatment for dry skin and as an expectorant for respiratory conditions, according to The Cayce Herbal (a collection of fact sheets on herbs recommended by Edgar Cayce, available at EdgarCayce.org/members as a resource in the Edgar Cayce readings database). Cayce recommended it as a component in inhalants (such as Herbal Breathing*) and in massage oils where it acted as “…a material aid to stimulating the superficial circulatory forces, and thus enabling the body to gain better control of the muscular forces…” The other key ingredient is Atomic Iodine*, which is electrified iodine often recommended by Cayce as an external antiseptic or, in minute doses taken under a physician’s supervision, as a thyroid supplement, according to the Cayce Health Database.
Tibbex*, a new offering from Baar Products, the Official Supplier of Cayce Care products, replicates this latter formula. “We’ve researched the beneficial historical uses and Cayce’s recommendations for tobacco to formulate a product that provides soothing relief to those suffering with hemorrhoids,” Bruce Baar, Doctor of Naturopathy (ND) said. “We are focused on manufacturing products that maximize the body’s full healing potential and are excited to introduce one of Cayce’s most unique and effective formulas. Tibbex has already begun to receive positive feedback and testimonials.”
"...I was delighted to hear that many of your customers have found Tibbex to be almost a miracle product in the healing of Hemorrhoidal conditions. I can only tell you, that has certainly proved to be true in my case. The relief from burning and itching occurred within an hour of applying the Tibbex Ointment and by the next day the inflammation seemed to be gone completely."

The Fifth Root Race—In Ascendancy
By PMH Atwater, LHD
There’s no getting around it: a sense of destiny permeates the young adults, teenagers, and children of our world. And there’s no culture or society devoid of sacred stories that predicted this—the rise and dominance of what is often referred to as the Fifth Root Race.
The term root race refers to the gene pool in the human family. In older, esoteric literature and in legend, terms like life streams, life waves, new people, or even advanced beings were used to describe groups of folks who were decidedly different from their parents and grandparents. The more there were, the more assuredly they bore the mark of evolution–physiological and psychological traits characteristic of gene mutation.
DNA alters over time as a result of how people respond to the needs and stressors of their environment; these changes can be accelerated if transformative events, such as near-death experiences and spiritual breakthroughs, occur in numbers large enough to jumpstart the evolutionary process. Once the new traits overspread land masses and population groups, a genetic “makeover”–a species-wide-alteration–can result. That shift is now happening. Think of it as an update within the human family.
Of the many versions of root races that have emerged, the most well-known are from Theosophy (through Blavatsky, Leadbeater, and Powell), and from Edgar Cayce. The Theosophical version names seven progressions of such evolutionary change, beginning around 18 million years ago with the entry of spirit into matter (the First Root Race) and ends around 8,000 years hence when humankind is said to transcend the need for schools and social structures like what exists today (the Seventh Root Race). Cayce, however, spoke of that initial appearance of the First Root Race as happening further back in time?around 4.5 billion years ago. Curiously, he pegged the rise of the Fifth Root Race between 1998 and 2015. No one knows why he never mentioned any other evolutionary leap beyond that.
The timespan applied to a root race is considerable. For instance, the Fifth, according to Theosophical records, covered the years 10,000 BCE to 3,000 BCE in right-brained megalithic cultures and 3,000 BCE to 2,400 CE in left-brained modern cultures. The prediction is that during this period consciousness separated into two hemispheres–East and West–would fuse back together; a global leap in species refinement. This prediction, together with Cayce’s approximate dates of 1998 - 2015 for the entry period, is enough to necessitate that we take a deeper look.

Always, when trying to verify predictions, movements, and cycles, look for correlations—the microcosm always reflects the macrocosm, and vice versa. Since 1982, the following has either been newly discovered, revealed, or occurred en masse: Fifth Communication Wave (personal computers); Fifth Brain (the heart); Fifth Brain Wave Frequency (gamma); Fifth Basic Force (torsion waves); Fifth Destiny (the rise of female power); Fifth Discipline (businesses as learning centers); Fifth Element (ether); Fifth Dimension (freed from time/spaces states, intention rules).
Toss the labels of indigo, crystal, starseed, rainbow, and psychic, as they mislead and exaggerate (also discard “golden indigos”). Then, bunch together the characteristics these labels supposedly describe, and you have the pattern of the “new” kids—a pattern around for a while in the gene pool of the human family that has finally overspread landmasses—and moved into ascendancy.
